So last Friday, my brother, sister and I decided to eat dinner in Rambla followed by Grace Park for dessert (Which was beside Bizu btw) So I bought macarons. LOL every chance I have, I take.
And finally I get to really decide what Bizu is to me. (I used to like it so much because it's the only one that I've tasted before)
And I realized so much after this day!! :\
DARK CHOCOLATE
It used to be my favorite. (Not anymore)
HAZELNUT AND WHITE TRUFFLE
I could taste the white truffle but not the hazelnut
LIME
PISTACHIO
When I said that it was intensely chewy and a bit hard to bite (in my previous post), I guess it was the normal consistency for Bizu's Pistachio macarons :((((((( huuhuhuh sad..
ROSE LYCHEE
EARL GREY
BLUEBERRY
-.-
Giant air bubble
I feel so cheated on :(( hahahahjk..

KATHLEEN'S MACARON CRITERIA:
Shell 5/10
It should be smooth and delicate, slightly crispy but not crunchy- fragile like eggshells, it should also be somehow flat and not dome-shaped with no air bubbles nor air pockets. Technically, excessive coloring is a no-no. (air pockets + softness + delicate-ness.... :( I like the colors though ahha)
Filling & Flavor 5/10
F&F should be smooth, light and distinctly flavorful. It shouldn't be too sweet or sour as well. Melt in the mouth texture is also a plus! (Some didn't taste like the said flavor)
Aesthetics 7/10
Shape and size of the macaron, feet and filling ratio (It was okay, physically speaking.. without biting into it..)
Value 6/10
We all know that macarons aren't easy to do, (and maybe there are even more guidelines that I've yet to read about) so you're technically paying for the labor of the macaron maker. Accept it, pay, then judge if it was worth the money you paid with. (Ok..)
