Aaaaand for the third time, mom was shopping for stuffed toys in Mitsukoshi, (and I didn't really bother to shop for stuffed toys) so I went around on my own- I went on a search. Search for what? Obv, macarons!
TARTINE MACARONS
Boy do they look so pretty
Like I said, I don't like overly colored macarons... but these are obv exempted from the rule
I took a picture of them by group (with their names) for better reference
They are just so...
Colorful.
I really really had a difficult time in choosing with such limited cash. If I were to go back though, I'd get them all.
These are the flavors in print. It looks so appealiiiing!
I love love love the packaging!
REDBEAN/SESAME ; SHISO/UME ; MATCHA/CHESTNUT ; BASIL/LIME ; BLUEBERRY/PASSIONFRUIT CHEESECAKE ; CASSIS/BALSAMIC
(I got the rainbow)
All I have to say is that you guys have to try these. They're unique in a way because all of their flavors are 2-in-1. (Well except for Bailey's Coffee and Pink Lemonade) Also, they don't only look good, but they taste good as well. Sorry, but I've forgotten how their consistency is. I'll take note next time, promise. (And this also applies for all of my other posts. I didn't really think about blogging them so I didn't sort-of take note of every little detail.. D:)

KATHLEEN'S MACARON CRITERIA:
Shell 7/10
It should be smooth and delicate, slightly crispy but not crunchy- fragile like eggshells, it should also be somehow flat and not dome-shaped with no air bubbles nor air pockets. Technically, excessive coloring is a no-no. (Excessive coloring rule here was abolished by me because it looked fantabulous anyway. LOL sry. About the shell, it wasn't that delicate, but it'll do)
Filling & Flavor 8/10
F&F should be smooth, light and distinctly flavorful. It shouldn't be too sweet or sour as well. Melt in the mouth texture is also a plus! (They were really adventurous with their flavors by mix and matching them and I love it!)
Aesthetics 8/10
Shape and size of the macaron, feet and filling ratio (they had a pretty good filling ratio. The macarons were a little bit fat. I don't know it it's just me or what)
Value 8/10
We all know that macarons aren't easy to do, (and maybe there are even more guidelines that I've yet to read about) so you're technically paying for the labor of the macaron maker. Accept it, pay, then judge if it was worth the money you paid with. (Hmm good enough.)
