Guangzhou Macarons

When I was in GuangZhou, China for wintercamp, I came across this macaron place, and obv I bought some. I was just stupid enough not to take a picture of the brand, so I kind of forgot which this was. :( Anyway I loved the tastes of these, so here are pictures of the macarons <3

 PISTACHIO

I really don't like bright or intense colors for macarons because.. it just looks so fake..
(But still this was good)

 BANANA

This was my favorite cause it tasted really really yummy! Banana FTW! =P~

 ROSE

This was the first time I got to taste rose macarons, and boy do they taste great. And it had pretty glitters on it too!!! <3

 SESAME

The sesame flavor on this macaron was bold and strong, I had to share it with my friends so I wouldn't get "umay"

 CHOCOLATE

Well.. This tasted ordinary, but it didn't taste bad :)

MATCHA

This macaron had a really bold taste too. Well, I guess it's better than being bland..

Then again, I feel bad for not remembering the brand. Mrrp :(

KATHLEEN'S MACARON CRITERIA:

Shell 7/10

It should be smooth and delicate, slightly crispy but not crunchy- fragile like eggshells, it should also be somehow flat and not dome-shaped with no air bubbles nor air pockets. Technically, excessive coloring is a no-no. (I remembered it having bits of air bubbles inside)

Filling & Flavor 8/10

F&F should be smooth, light and distinctly flavorful. It shouldn't be too sweet or sour as well. Melt in the mouth texture is also a plus! (I love the flavors but the strength of flavoring was too much. Yes I do remember.)

Aesthetics 6.5/10 

Shape and size of the macaron, feet and filling ratio (It was dome shaped and like I said, some had air bubbles on them. Filling ratio was sorta off too.)

Value ---

We all know that macarons aren't easy to do, (and maybe there are even more guidelines that I've yet to read about) so you're technically paying for the labor of the macaron maker. Accept it, pay, then judge if it was worth the money you paid with. (I don't remember)
